About

The oldest trade in photography.

Hi, we’re Audri & Curtiss, partners in life and a photography duo bringing back the tradition of while-you-wait portraits: photographed on the spot and developed in minutes.

A bit about us — Audri is a dancer, photographer, and movement director. Curtiss is a photographer and tradesman who has spent the past decade working with large format cameras in his fine art practice.

We both grew up around the stage, and the language of theatre continues to shape how we make portraits. Light, composition, presence, and atmosphere all find their way into our work, blending Audri’s eye for expression with Curtiss’s love of the deliberate pace of large format photography.

More than anything, we simply love connecting with people and making portraits you can keep for years to come. Every photograph is made with patience, care, and a genuine excitement to share the experience with you.

Why The Bellows

Not a photobooth. A portrait studio that travels.

01

A real lens. Not a camera app.

We're different to the traditional digital photobooth set-ups in how we make our portraits. We use a 4×5 large-format lens — the same format that defined portrait photography for a century. The difference is visible the moment you hold the photograph.

02

A physical print. Not a QR code.

You leave with something in your hand. No app to download, no link to click, no waiting for an email — your print develops and is yours within minutes, no screen required.

03

Made by photographers, not a rental kit.

In a highly digital age, we’re drawn to slower, more tactile ways of making photographs. By combining traditional photographic techniques with instant film, we offer a physical keepsake, made by hand and meant to be held onto for years to come.

FAQ

Questions, answered.

y

How long does each portrait take?

Just a few minutes. Once we take the shot the colours need a moment to develop and we scan every frame — then the finished print is in your hands.

y

Do we get digital copies too?

The hand-made print is the original and it's yours on the spot. Aside from à la carte pop-ups, we send high-resolution scans of every portrait in a file after an event.

y

How much space do you need?

Very little. Our whole setup is 100% wireless — no access to power required — so an 8×8 ft footprint is plenty, indoors or out. It gives us the flexibility to pop up almost anywhere.

y

How many portraits can you make?

How much time do you have? We can accommodate large groups, but it depends on the time constraints of your booking. Please fill out our contact sheet so we can find the best fit for your event!

y

How far will you travel?

To the far corners of the world. We're based in Toronto but will happily make our way to you! Shoot us a message or fill out our inquiry form.
